FAQs from Motivo Supervisors
What are the benefits of providing Clinical Supervision through Motivo?
Providing clinical supervision through Motivo gives you the opportunity to advance the mental health field through the development of up and coming mental health professionals.
Additionally, you will be able to supplement your current therapy and/or supervision practice by connecting with supervisees through the site. This reduces the time and expenses you invest in marketing for new clients and supervisees. You have the opportunity to accept supervisees who you feel can best benefit from your experience and expertise.
Further, as a Motivo Clinical Supervisor, you will receive a monthly user report, outlining the dates, hours and attendance of your supervision sessions. You are welcome to download the report for your records. Additionally, Motivo will give supervisees the opportunity to provide anonymous feedback about your supervision sessions. Constructive feedback can be difficult to accumulate in our field, but is essential to our development and growth as Clinical Supervisors.
What rate will I be paid for Clinical Supervision?
The payment rate varies based on the type of supervision you are providing. See below chart. Our rates were decided after careful research comparing clinical supervision rates across the country in both urban and rural areas and among new and seasoned clinical supervisors.Motivo Supervisor Payment Rates
|Individual Supervision||Dyad Supervision||Group Supervision|
|$50 / hour||$75 / hour||$100 / hour|
Will I have to recruit people to supervise on Motivo?
Nope. Motivo will handle all marketing and recruiting of supervisees for the site.
Can I continue to Supervise other people outside of Motivo?
Of course! We hope that you will use Motivo as a way to supplement your existing therapy and supervision practice.
Can I meet Supervisees through your site and then supervise them on my own?
Please don’t. We provide you with a free listing of your supervision services on our site. In exchange, we require that you use our platform, rates and workflow for any supervisee we locate for you. This is outlined in your contract, which will be reviewed with you during your onboarding session.
Can I Supervise people in states where I am not licensed?
No. You must hold a current professional license to practice in each state where you wish to supervise pre-licensed professionals.
What Supervisor Credentials and training do I need in order to Supervise through Motivo?
You must meet the qualifications as a supervisor in the states where you are licensed in order to be listed on that state’s filter.
What is the process for linking Supervisees with Clinical Supervisors through Motivo?
When a supervisee visits the site, they are given the opportunity to search for Clinical supervisor profiles using filters about their specific needs (state, credentials, modalities, etc.). When a supervisee selects you, we will reach out to you and inquire about your interest in taking on the prospective supervisee. We will then schedule a free, 15- minute consultation video call between you, the supervisee and Motivo. This allows
both you and the supervisee to get to know one another and ask any questions before moving forward.
If both you and the supervisee decide to move forward, you’ll gain access to our platform for scheduling video sessions.
What makes Motivo HIPAA-Compliant?
Motivo utilizes a third-party tele-health portal for all Clinical Supervision sessions. We have a Business Associates Agreement with the third party tele-health platform, which provides HIPAA-compliant protection measures throughout the site. If you’d like to see the BAA or read more about this, just let us know and we’d be happy to provide you with that information.
If I accept a Supervisee and we later determine we are not a good fit for Supervision, what should I do?
If you decide not to proceed in Clinical Supervision with the supervisee for whatever reason, simply email us and we will step in to connect the supervisee with a different Clinical Supervisor.
