Bettina Yanez, LCSW

I choose a career in this field because I was drawn to helping people. I have always been a good listener and a positive, optimistic support for others. I felt that my experiences in life strengthened me in a way that I was able to bring that strength and support to others. Being in this field, I also felt it was important to meet my personal goals and to always grow and progress. So once I graduated, I worked towards obtaining all the credentials I could. I worked my way up to leadership roles in agency settings, as well as opening my own practice.

I believe that by helping clinicians and social workers, I am, in someway, helping all the individuals they help as well. I related to the macro level and want to be able to make a difference as far as I can reach. I also seek ways to grow my business and increase my ability to be with my loved ones without impacting my income.

I hope new professionals take this line of work seriously because they have the opportunity to truly help others! If your goal is always to help others, then you will always succeed in what you do! We can find ways to improve our work and ensure that we are doing what we need to for paperwork and licensure, but it is important to have your heart in the right place as well. Balance and focus are key.
