Christine Grounds, LCSW-R
I came to the helping professions after working in the corporate world selling art. After years of success and promotions left me feeling unfulfilled, I realized that I cared more about the people than what I was selling. This, coupled with my own therapy, helped me realize that as a therapist, I could help people experience more joy and fulfillment in their lives.
I have provided clinical supervision since 2004 and obtained a certificate in psychodynamic supervision in 2008. Supervison affords me the opportunity to collaborate and mentor therapists. In this way, I feel I am helping guide my supervises, who in turn are able to provide better care for their patients, thereby impacting more change than simply seeing my own patients. Being a supervisor is one of the most gratifying roles that I play in my life.
To my supervisees, I hope to foster a curiosity about the process of psychotherapy and increase their self-confidence so that they may gain more enjoyment from their work. By offering myself as a non-judgmental supervisor, I hope to model this use of self to them.
