Connie Elkins, LPC, NCC
I chose the counseling field because I have always had a genuine interest in helping others and believe that counselors are uniquely prepared to facilitate a combination of wellness, empowerment, and healing.
I supervise because I see the need for adequately trained counseling professionals, and at this stage in my career, I desire to pass on what I have learned. I also am an educator at heart and enjoy the relationship between supervisor and supervisee and feel intrinsically rewarded as I watch them grow professionally and personally.
I hope for new professionals to learn the skills needed to provide the best services they can to their clients. New mental health professionals need support, instruction, and mentoring in order to meet the demands of the profession. They need and deserve supervisors who are seasoned, trained, and engaged.
