David S. Johnson, Psy. D., LMHC, MCAP, SAP

I chose a career in counseling because I was very interested in psychology and the healing arts. I also am very excited about and devoted to the teaching and supervision of counselors.

I have had a very diverse and well-rounded career as a counselor, educator, and therapist. I also struggled finding a clinical supervisor, so I know how difficult the intern process can be. A well-trained clinical supervisor can have a tremendous impact on interns by guiding them and offering wisdom and expertise in the registered intern process.

I hope to train and prepare new counselors to be professional and ethical in their practice and expertise. I believe each therapist can have a unique calling and expertise that can be very helpful to hurting individuals and families. Counseling can also be a difficult profession, so I want to prepare therapists for the challenges of their profession.
