I chose a career in this field because it provides me with an opportunity to be available to members of our society who are in need of a Behavioral Health Provider who is non-judgmental, nurturing, culturally competent, diverse and inclusive.

I chose to become a Field Placement Clinical Supervisor because I experienced the most professional, ethical, nurturing, safe, understanding, emphatic and highly skilled clinical supervision over thirty years ago. I truly wanted to "pay it forward". As a result of such a positive experience, I have remained in contact with my clinical supervisor over the past thirty years. I have experienced the opportunity to "pay it forward" and it has been one of the most professionally gratifying experiences of my career. My students excel in their internship and go on to find great employment opportunities. It is so rewarding when I get a request for a letter of recommendation and a call later telling me they were offered the position, "that's life".

It is my desire that new professionals in this field gain a broad and depth of knowledge in human behavioral health and services. It is my desire that this knowledge is translated into practice that will enable them as leaders to advocate for their client's needs, family needs, and the community at large.
