Julie Costello, LMFT
I chose a career in this field because I wanted to be a piece in the journeys of those who have lost their way and are looking for their way back.
I supervise because I believe it is the responsibility of seasoned therapists to take part in the training of the next generation of therapists. I had to jump through many hoops and understand the difficulties in gaining adequate supervision, especially for those who have to move across state lines.
I hope new professionals find their clinical voices and confidence, while at the same time understanding that they are just a piece in the journey. The people we work with are the experts of their own lives, and we are there to walk with them, not dictate their path.
