Rita Morris, LMHC

I do this work because, at the end of the day, I can’t not do this
work. I have always been inspired by what it takes to move forward to
build a beautiful, healed life. I’ve identified with the pain I’ve seen in others and also resonated with the yearning for something better. I’ve been deeply inspired by people who didn’t just survive but thrived. I never cease to be amazed by the resiliency of the human spirit. I wholeheartedly believe that crafting a life of connection, meaning, and fulfillment is possible no matter where you start out in life and that everyone deserves to be skillfully supported in pursuit of this.

I love doing supervision! I can still remember my first "real" session, I kept thinking "I can't do this, I have no idea what I'm doing!" (Similar to how I felt when my first child was born!) Although that feeling was exhilarating, I was terrified! I've supervised many new clinicians, I love being part of their journey, walking the path from terrified to confidence is such an honor for me!

My hope for new clinicians is success, (however they personally define it), and personal fulfilment. I also hope they take care of themselves, as they take care of their clients. The importance of self care is very easy to overlook, and all too often we find ourselves exhausted and drained. Remembering to fill our own vessels is what enables us to continue this work.
