Valerie Kuykendall-Rogers, LPC-S
I chose a career in this field because I truly want to help people feel affirmed and appreciated and work with people to help them see what is possible, despite their past hurts/trauma, etc. I truly enjoy seeing the "light bulb" go on and watching clients transform and heal from their past wounds in order to achieve their goals.
I enjoy helping the next generation of therapists learn about the "business" as well as "clinical" aspects of private practice. It is a joy to welcome them into the family of therapists and help them hone in on their niches and develop the skills needed to prevent burnout.
I hope new professionals learn how to not only care for their clients but also for themselves. I also hope that they develop into caring, competent professionals who are sensitive to cultural and societal differences.
